Rarely in my travels have I come across such a monumental talent as Stumpus Maximus. Stumpus comes from strong Welsh singing stock and, in fact, is the brother of the legendary "Morty" of 70s sensation Racing Cars. Anyway, we ditched his backing group and formed the "Good Ol' Boys" just for the occasion. In case you wanted to know, I willingly gave up the mike just to play piano. Hope you all enjoy it. Rock On, Stumpus! Joe Elliott ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2) Billy's Got A Gun (Clark, Savage, Willis, Elliott, Lange) - Live version Recorded in Tilburg, The Netherlands, 1987 during the Hysteria Tour. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3) Release Me (E. Miller, D. Williams, R. Yount) 3:30 (Performed by Stumpus Maximus And The Good Ol' Boys, which is tour manager Malvin Mortimer on lead vocals and Def Leppard as the Good Ol' Boys. The song is a humorous remake of Engelbert Humperdinck's classic: Malvin sings each verse a couple of notes higher than the previous verse, until he is screaming at the end of the song.) Hey please release me, let me go And for I don't love you anymore To waste our lives would be a shame And release me and let me love again Oh I have found a new love dear And I will always want her near Her lips are warm while yours are cold And release me my darling let me go Please release me, let me go And for I don't love you anymore And to live our lives would be a shame And so release me and let me love again So please release me, let me go And for I don't love you anymore And to live our lives would be a shame And so release me and let me love again Hey please release me And for I don't love you anymore To live, excuse me, would be a shame And so release me and let me love again So release me and let me love again Let me go, let me go ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rocket (1989) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Track Listing 1) Rocket (Clark, Collen, Elliott, Lange, Savage) - Lunar mix, Extended version 2) Women (Clark, Collen, Elliott, Lange, Savage) - Live version 3) Rock Of Ages (Clark, Lange, Elliott) - Live version 4) Rocket (Clark, Collen, Elliott, Lange, Savage) 7:06 - Lunar mix, Single version ------------------------------------------------------------------------ January 1989: In your hands is Def Leppard single #7 from "Hysteria". You gotta thank the Brits for this one 'course they thought it would be a great follow-up to their last single, which was either, "Sugar" or "Love Bites" (I've lost track). They wanted a video for the track and since we had such a good time making the "Rocket" video (our childhood, what can we say!), why not give everybody a chance to play and watch "Rocket". Right now we're back recording the 5th album, thrilled to bits with everything that's gone on and looking forward to putting out our live concert video: IN YOUR FACE-IN THE ROUND (something like that). Also on this piece of vinyl/plastic/whatever is a song from that live show (I believe it was song number 3 that night), "Women". Thank you and good night. Joe Elliott ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2) Women (Clark, Collen, Elliott, Lange, Savage) - Live version Recorded at McNichols Arena in Denver, Colorado on February, 12, 1988. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3) Rock Of Ages (Clark, Lange, Elliott) - Live version Recorded in Tilburg, The Netherlands during the Hysteria Tour. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
